Alex is recruiting for a Children’s Home Manager in the March area of Cambridgeshire. This is a great opportunity to join a passionate and dedicated team that thrives off seeing the positive impact they have on service users.
The role will include managing a skilled team to deliver the best care and support in a residential setting. They also look to provide a range of services such as a therapeutic service, a fostering agency, a family centre and services for disabled children and their families.
Key duties and roles
• To provide leadership to deliver positive outcomes for children and young people throughout their development.
• Leading and managing a therapeutic children’s home by creating a positive and safe environment.
• Ensuring the general upkeep of the Children’s Home.
• Providing considerate care and support to the children within the care home.
• Displaying a safe atmosphere through safeguarding from abuse, neglect, and harm to allow them to be positive throughout their day-to-day life.
• Ensuring that you are professional throughout your shift, whilst organising children’s activities, attending children reviews, appointments and meetings when required.
• Delivering clear communication, reporting, and recording safeguarding concerns, updating records, adhering to companies’ policies and procedures and create positive community relationships.
Requirements
• Minimum of a relevant qualification (minimum childcare related Diploma)
• Diploma in Leadership level 5 or other management qualification within 2 years of appointment.
• 2 years’ experience working with children in a residential setting within the last 5 years.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience of supervision and management of others in a care role.
• Working with young people who have experienced trauma and disrupted attachments.
• Safeguarding level 1- 2 Desired but not essential, (Safeguarding can be covered in the induction process).

• To either hold or be in the process of obtaining a level 3 diploma in the children and young people workforce.
