Registered Children’s Home Manager Full Time

Alex is recruiting for a Registered Children’s Home Manager in central or West Essex. The Registered manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of running the Home and will be supported by an assistant manager and a central office. To ensure young people are supported and prepared to move on to independent living.

Key duties and roles

• To ensure young people are supported and prepared to move on to independent living.
• To provide effective leadership by implementing organisational strategies, in order to enable objectives of the client to be achieved.
• To set and review targets and objectives for the home’s staff team in order to ensure that work is focused and has clear direction.
• To ensure that the young people’s needs are being met in line with the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes.
• This position is non-residential, however successful candidates are required to be part of a management rota providing out of hours for the company.
• To actively participate in grievance, recruitment disciplinary, health and safety and other staffing matters with support from the HR Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum of a relevant qualification (minimum childcare related Diploma)
• Diploma in Leadership level 5 or other management qualification.
• 2 years’ experience working with children within the last 5 years.
• supervision and management experience.
• Experience of working with children, young people and their families
• Experience of working in a residential setting with inter-agency work.
• A full manual driving licence is essential, and you are required to drive the young people to appointments, home visits, school, local authorities etc.
