Support Workers – Children’s Home Full Time

Dayam is recruiting for Youth Support Workers who are qualified in Emotional and Behavarioul Difficulties (EBD) to work within a well-established home within Sutton.

As a Youth Support Worker, you will be responsible for leading and motivating all residents by assisting with activities, and educational processes.

This role is suitable for an experienced Support Worker who has worked with young people in care. You will have the ability to encourage and motivate residents to reach their individual goals and provide a positive outlook of life.

Key Duties and skills

• Work as part of a team and take guidance from superiors.
• Report to Deputy and Line management.
• Providing considerate care and emotional support to the young residents.
• Displaying a safe atmosphere through safeguarding from abuse, neglect, and harm to allow them to be positive throughout their day-to-day life.
• Ensuring that you are professional throughout your shift, whilst organising children’s activities, attending children reviews, appointments and meetings when required.
• Delivering clear communication, reporting, and recording safeguarding concerns, updating records, adhering to policies and procedures and create positive community relationships.
• To support young people in making asylum claims, attending home office appointments, meeting with solicitors, and assisting with access to national insurance numbers.
• Ensuring you are assisting with the attendance and learning for each resident.

Requirements

• Experience working with children.
• Ofsted Regulated experience.
• Be qualified in working with Emotional and Behavarioul Difficulties (EBD).
• Enhanced DBS.
• NVQ Level 2 and 3 (Preferred)
• Have a pedagogy qualification.
• Ability to build positive and long-term relationships.

Shift Pattern

• Monday to Friday with option for overtime.
